A Lifetime of Public Service
Lisa graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1980 where she was a two-time state finalist in both track and cross-country.
She earned a degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University graduating with honors in 1984. Lisa then obtained her law degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987.

Since law school, Lisa has devoted her career to public service. She began as an Assistant Texas Attorney General protecting Texas consumers. She also served as a Nueces County prosecutor, representing victims of crime in justice, county and district courts.
Elected Justice of the Peace in 1996, she reduced a significant case backlog. As Judge of County Court at Law No. 2 since 2003 she has presided over thousands of cases—including more than 600 jury trials in criminal, civil, probate and mental health matters.
